Timeliness, get the timing right (\u6642\u4e2d) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Confucius said, \"A noble man has the sense of balance and constancy; the petty and the lowly lack the sense of balance and constancy. A noble man\u2019s sense of balance and constancy means that he gets the timing right. The petty and the lowly abuse the sense of balance and constancy to have no fear, no caution.\" (Zhong Yong, 2)<br \/>\n\u4ef2\u5c3c\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u541b\u5b50\u4e2d\u5eb8\uff0c\u5c0f\u4eba\u53cd\u4e2d\u5eb8\u3002\u541b\u5b50\u4e4b\u4e2d\u5eb8\u4e5f\uff0c\u541b\u5b50\u800c\u6642\u4e2d\uff1b\u5c0f\u4eba\u4e4b\u4e2d\u5eb8\u4e5f\uff0c\u5c0f\u4eba\u800c\u7121\u5fcc\u619a\u4e5f\u3002\u300d (\u4e2d\u5eb8, 2)<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Moderation, right balance (\u904e\u7336\u4e0d\u53ca)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Zi Gong asked, \"Between Shi (Zi Zhang) and Shang (Zi Xia), who is better?\" The Master said, \"Shi goes too far and Shang falls short.\" \"Shi is better, then?\" said Zi Gong. The Master said, \"Going too far is similar to falling short.\"<br \/>\n\u5b50\u8ca2\u554f\uff1a\u300c\u5e2b\u8207\u5546\u4e5f\u5b70\u8ce2\uff1f\u300d\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u5e2b\u4e5f\u904e\uff0c\u5546\u4e5f\u4e0d\u53ca\u3002\u300d\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u7136\u5247\u5e2b\u6108\u8207\uff1f\u300d\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u904e\u7336\u4e0d\u53ca\u3002\u300d (\u5148\u9032, 11.16)<\/p>\n<p>The Master said, \"If you cannot manage to do things at the right pace, you are bound to be either mad or indecisive. A mad man will go ahead, an indecisive person leaves things unaccomplished.\"<br \/>\n\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u4e0d\u5f97\u4e2d\u884c\u800c\u8207\u4e4b\uff0c\u5fc5\u4e5f\u72c2\u72f7\u4e4e\uff01\u72c2\u8005\u9032\u53d6\uff0c\u72f7(=\u7336\u8c6b\u672a\u6c7a)\u8005\u6709\u6240\u4e0d\u70ba\u4e5f\u3002\u300d(\u5b50\u8def, 13.21)<\/p>\n<p>The Master said, \"When the Way is not practised, I know it because clever guys lend themselves to excesses, and stupid guys cannot manage. When the Way is unclear, I know it because talented guys lend themsleves to excesses and incompetent guys cannot manage. Everybody eats but few know the taste.\" (Zhong Yong, 4)<br \/>\n\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u9053\u4e4b\u4e0d\u884c\u4e5f\uff0c\u6211\u77e5\u4e4b\u77e3\uff1a\u77e5\u8005\u904e\u4e4b\uff0c\u611a\u8005\u4e0d\u53ca\u4e5f\u3002\u9053\u4e4b\u4e0d\u660e\u4e5f\uff0c\u6211\u77e5\u4e4b\u77e3\uff1a\u8ce2\u8005\u904e\u4e4b\uff0c\u4e0d\u8096\u8005\u4e0d\u53ca\u4e5f\u3002\u4eba\u83ab\u4e0d\u98f2\u98df\u4e5f\uff0c\u9bae\u80fd\u77e5\u5473\u4e5f\u3002\u300d(\u4e2d\u5eb8, 4)<br \/>\n\ub3c4\uac00 \uc9c0\ucf1c\uc9c0\uc9c0 \uc54a\ub294 \ubaa8\uc2b5\uc744 \ub09c \uc54c\uc544. \ub611\ub611\ud55c \uc790\ub4e4\uc740 \uacfc\ud558\uac8c \ud558\uace0, \uc5b4\ub9ac\uc11d\uc740 \uc790\ub4e4\uc740 \ubaa8\uc790\ub77c\uac8c \ud558\ub294 \uac83\uc774\uc9c0. \ub3c4\uac00 \ubd84\uba85\uce58 \uc54a\uc740 \uac83\ub3c4 \ub09c \uc54c\uc544. \uc7ac\uc8fc\ub9ce\uc740 \uc774\ub4e4\uc740 \uacfc\ud558\uac8c \ud558\uace0, \ubd88\ucd08\ud55c \uc774\ub4e4\uc740 \ubbf8\uce58\uc9c0\ub97c \ubabb\ud558\uc9c0. \uc74c\uc2dd\uc744 \uc548\uba39\ub294 \uc0ac\ub78c\uc740 \uc5c6\uc9c0\ub9cc, \ub9db\uc744 \uc544\ub294 \uc0ac\ub78c\uc740 \ub4dc\ubb3c\uc5b4.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Middle, avoiding the extremes, moderate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yao (\u582f) said, \"Well, Shun (\u821c), the time has now come to you. Do hold on to the middle. If poverty strikes all corners of the empire, the privileges given by the Heaven will cease forever.\" Shun (\u821c) gave the same order to Wu (\u79b9).<br \/>\n\u582f\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u54a8\uff01\u723e\u821c\uff01\u5929\u4e4b\u66c6\u6578\u5728\u723e\u8eac\u3002\u5141\u57f7\u5176\u4e2d\u3002\u56db\u6d77\u56f0\u7aae\uff0c\u5929\u797f\u6c38\u7d42\u3002\u300d\u821c\u4ea6\u4ee5\u547d\u79b9\u3002(\u582f\u66f0, 20.1)<\/p>\n<p>The Master said, \"Emperor Shun had immense wisdom! Shun was fond of inquiring and observing what people say. He suppressed the bad and encouraged the good. He took the two ends and applied the middle to the people. That is how he became the great Shun.\"<br \/>\n\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u821c\u5176\u5927\u77e5\u4e5f\u8207\uff01\u821c\u597d\u554f\u800c\u597d\u5bdf\u9087\u8a00\uff0c\u96b1\u60e1\u800c\u63da\u5584\uff0c\u57f7\u5176\u5169\u7aef\uff0c\u7528\u5176\u4e2d\u65bc\u6c11\uff0c\u5176\u65af\u4ee5\u70ba\u821c\u4e4e\uff01\u300d(\u4e2d\u5eb8, 6)<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Get it right, hit the mark, spot on (\u7684\u4e2d)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If the Li and the Music do not flourish, punishments will not be properly administered. If punishments are not properly administered, people would not know where to stand.<br \/>\n\u79ae\u6a02\u4e0d\u8208\uff0c\u5247\u5211\u7f70\u4e0d\u4e2d\uff1b\u5211\u7f70\u4e0d\u4e2d\uff0c\u5247\u6c11\u7121\u6240\u63aa\u624b\u8db3\u3002(\u5b50\u8def, 13.3)<\/p>\n<p>People in Lu were going to refurbish the treasury building. Min Zi Qian said, \"Why not use the old one? Do they really have to redo it?\" The Master said, \"This man does not talk. But when he does, he surely hits the mark.\"<br \/>\n\u9b6f\u4eba\u70ba\u9577\u5e9c\u3002\u9594\u5b50\u9a2b\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u4ecd\u820a\u8cab\uff0c\u5982\u4e4b\u4f55\uff1f\u4f55\u5fc5\u6539\u4f5c\uff1f\u300d\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u592b\u4eba\u4e0d\u8a00\uff0c\u8a00\u5fc5\u6709\u4e2d\u3002\u300d(\u5148\u9032, 11.14)<\/p>\n<p>The Master said, \"Hui was almost perfect. But he had nothing. Ci did not accept the heavenly mandate. He instead made a fortune. His speculation often turned out right.<br \/>\n\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u56de\u4e5f\u5176\u5eb6\u4e4e\uff0c\u5c62\u7a7a\u3002\u8cdc\u4e0d\u53d7\u547d\uff0c\u800c\u8ca8\u6b96\u7109\uff0c\u5104\u5247\u5c62\u4e2d\u3002\u300d(\u5148\u9032, 11.19)<\/p>\n<h3>What is \u5eb8 (Yong)?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>1. Constant (\u5e38)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u5eb8\u8a00\u4e4b\u4fe1\uff0c\u5eb8\u884c\u4e4b\u8b39 (\u5468\u6613\u00b7\u4e7e) Constancy in speech means trustworthy; constancy in conduct means respectable.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. to work hard, toil (\u529f, \u52de)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u7121\u529f\u5eb8\u8005 \u4e0d\u6562\u5c45\u9ad8\u4f4d (\u6649\u8a9e) He who does not make effort should not dare to remain in a high position.<\/p>\n<p>\u570b\u529f\u66f0\u529f\uff0c\u6c11\u529f\u66f0\u5eb8<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. foolish (\u611a)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u9119\u6a38(\ube44\ubc15)\u4eba\u4e5f\uff0c\u624d\u80fd\u4e0d\u904e\u51e1\u5eb8<\/p>\n<p>\"Stay hungry, stay foolish.\"<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. \u548c <\/strong><br \/>\n\u5eb8\uff1a\u5e38\u4e5f\uff0c\u7528\u4e5f\uff0c\u529f\u4e5f\uff0c\u548c\u4e5f\uff0c\u6b21\u4e5f\uff0c\u6613\u4e5f...(\u5ee3\u97fb)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grandiose statement about \u4e2d and \u548c<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When the emotions of joy, anger, sorrow, happiness are not stirred, it can be called Equilibium. When they are stirred and yet all in proper control, it can be called Harmony. Equilibium is the root of everything. Harmony is the method of achieving whatever you pursue. When Equilibium and Harmony reaches perfection, everything will be in its proper place and all things will flourish.<br \/>\n\u559c\u6012\u54c0\u6a02\u4e4b\u672a\u767c\uff0c\u8b02\u4e4b\u4e2d\uff1b\u767c\u800c\u7686\u4e2d\u7bc0\uff0c\u8b02\u4e4b\u548c\uff1b\u4e2d\u4e5f\u8005\uff0c\u5929\u4e0b\u4e4b\u5927\u672c\u4e5f\uff1b\u548c\u4e5f\u8005\uff0c\u5929\u4e0b\u4e4b\u9054\u9053\u4e5f\u3002\u81f4\u4e2d\u548c\uff0c\u5929\u5730\u4f4d\u7109\uff0c\u842c\u7269\u80b2\u7109 (\u4e2d\u5eb8, 1)<\/p>\n<h3>\u4e2d and \u5eb8<\/h3>\n<p>Everybody says, \u2018I know\u2019. They adopt a position of balance and constance, but they cannot stick to it for a month.<br \/>\n\u4eba\u7686\u66f0\u300e\u4e88\u77e5\u300f\uff0c\u64c7\u4e4e\u4e2d\u5eb8\uff0c\u800c\u4e0d\u80fd\u671f\u6708\u5b88\u4e5f\u3002\u300d (\u4e2d\u5eb8, 7)<\/p>\n<p>The character of Hui is this: He adopts a position of balance and constance. When he accomplishes a good deed, he seizes and cherishes it. He never loses it.<br \/>\n\u300c\u56de\u4e4b\u70ba\u4eba\u4e5f\uff0c\u64c7\u4e4e\u4e2d\u5eb8\uff0c\u5f97\u4e00\u5584\uff0c\u5247\u62f3\u62f3\u670d\u81ba\u800c\u5f17\u5931\u4e4b\u77e3\u3002\u300d (\u4e2d\u5eb8, 8)<\/p>\n<p>The Master said, \u2018One may govern the whole world, a country or a household. One may decline honors and good salaries. One may step on sharp knife. But it is impossible to achieve a sense of balance and constancy.<br \/>\n\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u5929\u4e0b\u570b\u5bb6\u53ef\u5747\u4e5f\uff0c\u7235\u797f\u53ef\u8fad\u4e5f\uff0c\u767d\u5203\u53ef\u8e48\u4e5f\uff0c\u4e2d\u5eb8\u4e0d\u53ef\u80fd\u4e5f\u3002\u300d (\u4e2d\u5eb8, 9)<\/p>\n<p>To abide by good balance and constancy and not to have regrets when the world does not recognise you, only a Saint is capable of this.<br \/>\n\u541b\u5b50\u4f9d\u4e4e\u4e2d\u5eb8\uff0c\u9041\u4e16\u4e0d\u898b\u77e5\u800c\u4e0d\u6094\uff0c\u552f\u8056\u8005\u80fd\u4e4b\u3002(\u4e2d\u5eb8, 11)<\/p>\n<p>To achieve the balance and constancy is the ultimate virtue! Rare indeed are those who do this.<br \/>\n\u5b50\u66f0\uff1a\u300c\u4e2d\u5eb8\u4e4b\u70ba\u5fb7\u4e5f\uff0c\u5176\u81f3\u77e3\u4e4e\uff01\u6c11\u9bae\u4e45\u77e3\u3002\u300d (\u96cd\u4e5f, 6.29)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u7684\u4e2d? Constant adjustment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Master said, \u2018Archery has something similar to a noble man\u2019s behaviour. When you miss the mark, you reflect upon yourself to improve.
